Had a nice long soaking rain last night. Apparently we are off to another extremely atypical summer. This December was one of the coldest on record. Our grazer, Yvonne, was remarking on how green the hills are for this time of year. I guess they should be starting to brown-off with summer heat-and-dry. Not so for us. And this latest rain will add to the green growth. Of course, we have plenty of January and February left to go, so anything may happen.

Talked with our neighbor Steve over the weekend and he is keen to get a gate between our properties installled. Then he can move his hungry cows onto our back hill, with its waist-high grass. Everyone wins. Now it is simply a matter of trying to schedule time with Steve to get the work done! He has a gate. We have strainer posts. We just have to decide where to put it.
